UPDATE: According to Theodore (Theo) Mouratidis, it doesn’t actually seem that there is a grid-specific issue - more a the fusion industry is not interested in unified pursuit of pushing forward this tube technology for plasma heating so there was no incentive to improve bottleneck of grid manufacturing.
